The main result of the article would suggest that cancers are mostly due to errors in the DNA replication during the division of stem cells. A mini thought on a life extending strategy then:
Mechanically, it seems that the first way to make us live longer would be to restoring a fast body renewal as we grow older. Perhaps we’ve missed such life extensions because they were counterbalanced by more cancers? What would be the typical therapies/hormones that accelerate body renewal??? Perhaps they could be tested in cancer-resistant mouse models.
Would be happy to have views from anyone on this.

Also an interesting commentary on how this article has been covered by journalists. Especially the claim that many or most cancers come down to “bad luck”.
