“As for taking NAD
directly, this had been tried many ways for decades and it
appears that it does not survived digestion” -Paul Wakfer
You do know we have
enteric capsules, right?
Of course! But by “digestion” above I meant the entire process of
getting from the mouth through the stomach, intestines, liver, blood
and into the mitochondria of the cells where it is needed. Sorry to
not take the time to more fully explain.
We use them on many of
our products now.
Enteric coating only gets something past the potential destructive
process of the saliva and the stomach (as I understand it). I
already take several things with enteric coating, which is
particularly beneficial for getting pro-digestion bacteria into the
duodenum and beyond, still intact.
So it wouldn’t be such
a streach to use them for NAD.
Yes, and I confess that I have not seen enterically coated NAD
Having said that, I
have been looking for NR and only the Branded Niagen is used
by manufacturers. It is highly doubtful they are reinventing
the wheel and getting it from someone else… specially
because they are also using pterostilbene at 50mg, which is
also another ingredient chromadex pushes. Getting these
ingredients and anything above 25% purity is incredibly
difficult unless you go to Chromadex.Â
I know, I have traveled
to Vegas a couple times and to the main ingredient suppliers
for this area, and … its very difficult.
See image below of what
is in the dietary supplement:Â
Thanks muchly for providing this additional info. The LEF products
contain 100 mg of NR in one capsule and 50 mg of pterostilbene in
another, both clearly marked as coming from “ChromaDex, Inc”. Since
the above label says nothing about ChromaDex or NIAGEN or pTeroPure
(the Chromadex trademarked name for pterostilbene), I am now more
certain than before that Elysium Health is not using the ChromaDex
products. Otherwise they would have need to pay ChromaDex a great
deal of money for not mentioning them on the label.
OTOH, look at all the additional fillers (some garbage) in the
Elysium Health product needing two softgels to get only 300 mg of
total chemicals. I would not take this pill even if I were paid to
do so!! I already get too many junk fillers in LEF supplements and
have consequently too little control of my total intake in order to
get the important ingredients within the tablets, capsules and
