Dear Johnny: Thanks for your leadership in energizing the GRG List & working toward human healthspan improvement solutions. Approaches such as Melody describes are extremely complex & would require the power of a Calico-AbbVie with their type funding ($1.5 billion to start).
I suggest that our GRG List should adopt the technique-policy which you & I put in place for the Gerosciece Healthspan Forum which we co-founded in June 2013 , namely:
The author of a suggested healthspan improvement solution must write out an end-to-end Project Proposal for how, EXACTLY, they would progress an idea through translational aging research into a practical human clinical application.
This discipline along with the requirement of including estimated total costs & a realistic timetable to complete the project provides very useful guidance as to whether the proposed project should be funded & who would be best to carry it out.
I believe very strongly that, if we adopt this policy for GRG “discussion threads”, we will move more logically into achieving viable healthspan solutions.
